Scottish Highland Art, Balnagown Castle
Highland Castle, Skibo |
One of the artist favorite subjects and paintings is his representation of the Ancestral home of the Ross family, Balnagown Castle.
Completing in over 2 years, the painting & actual location have a rich history & personal significant value for him. Having deep family ties to the place & history, it embraces his preferred type of architecture and local flora. |
One of the most exclusive clubs in the world, Skibo became a very exciting oil painting and in a looser style for the artist. One of the early paintings he painted on super muslin, inspired a texture and touch so expressive for this series. The angle & flowers including the wonderful Scottish thistle was a must. Bravura brushstrokes and the fountain which is actually located elsewhere also made a great discovery. It was actually owned & built by a gentleman with Chris' surname Simpson.
The Royal and Ancient At Royal Lakes
Commissioned some years back now, this four foot by six foot canvas was a monumental task not only in size.
The client requested the full moon, monument to the right and the famous Swilken bridge. Scotland's well known golf course was an exciting subject and the original painting now an installation at the Royal Lakes Golf Course in Gainesville Georgia. |
